Montreal police are investigating after a woman was hit by a stray bullet Saturday night at Parc Jean-Drapeau on Île Sainte-Hélène during the Week-ends du Monde festival.
The woman’s arm was hit but her injuries are not life-threatening.
Police said officers heard gunshots near a stage at the venue. With help from the public, they tracked down and arrested a 31-year-old man.
The suspect is known to police and they expect him to be formally charged on Monday. He is being held in custody.
Police said he fired the gun during a conflict with another man, but it is unclear if they knew one another.
The woman who was shot does not have any connection to the shooter.
